The Company |
In November 1995, Cremer Programmentwicklung (CP) was founded as a GmbH (Ltd) company in Munich by Dr. Konrad Cremer. Since then, the company has grown steadily and surely, relatively unaffected by economic fluctuations. The company today offers a suite of programs centered upon the flagship product, CAPLAN. This surveying application is currently used by a wide range of surveying and engineering companies on numerous construction sites and mapping projects worldwide, such as the Gotthard-Tunnel (Switzerland), the Karahnjukar hydro-electric power station (Iceland), Malmö City-Tunnel (Sweden), the Chatswood to Epping Rail Link in Sydney (Australia), the Durban Harbour Tunnel (South Africa), the Glendoe Hydro Scheme in Inverness (Scotland) and many more. |
Our Team |
On 1st May 2007 Michael Eicher, who had already been with the company for a number of years, assumed the position of managing director. With his surveying education and experience he has a good understanding of the needs of our users, and he can also transform ideas and requests into reality with his programming skills. The company founder and former managing director, Dr. Konrad Cremer, remains an active part of the team, now working three days a week. His long-standing surveying, programming and training experience is invaluable in supporting the new generation at CP, and he is also working with promoting CAPLAN internationally in order to secure business growth over the next 20 years. Valeriy Shchotkin is a physicist born in Russia. He is responsible for the translation of software and documentation into Russian so that the benefits of our products can be brought to his compatriots. Sonja Bachmeyer has a background as a social worker and is the real heart of our team, providing an excellent counter-balance to the male and technical bias in the rest of the group. She takes care of accounting and other internal services at the company, including customer care at exhibitions and trade fairs. Nicholas Butler comes from England, studied Geomatics at Newcastle University and currently lives in Stockholm, from where he represents CP in northern Europe. He is also responsible for the translation and editing of all English texts.Tobias Schudt has been a member of our team since January 2010, following his graduation from the Würzburg University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule) in Germany. The university is where he first became acquainted with CAPLAN and he now works with programming as well as with the full range of customer support services, including telephone, e-mail, and in person on training courses and at trade fairs. |
Our Goals |
are dynamic. Our mission is to provide excellent tools for our customers
which are easy to use and which facilitate their everyday work. The
development goals of our programs are therefore extremely focused on the
specific and changing needs of our users. If we can continuously satisfy
most
of the customer wishes that we receive, whilst ensuring
that the programs remain compact, powerful and user-friendly, then our
work is done. For every support question we receive, we don't simply respond to the specific case but also ask ourselves if the product can be improved so that the question never arises again. Consequently, our support Hotline should ring less and the time saved can be invested in further improvements to our products |
